Aegis Command is a private, members-only tool for streaming, viewing, and archiving gameplay footage. Access requires signing in. These documents are a good-faith template tailored to the Service and are not legal advice — have them reviewed by a qualified attorney before relying on them.
1. Privacy Policy
Information we collect
- Discord account information (via Discord sign-in): your Discord user ID, username, display name, and avatar. We create an internal account record and a synthetic email identifier from this.
- Authentication data: a session identifier stored in a strictly-necessary cookie, and a short-lived OAuth state cookie.
- Stream content and recordings: the video and audio you broadcast (shared screen, game window, captured audio) and recordings made from it.
- Stream metadata: your participant handle, the associated event, timestamps, file names, sizes, and codec details.
- Technical / log data: IP address and basic connection information used to operate and secure the Service.
How we use it
- To authenticate you and operate the streaming, viewing, and archive features.
- To attribute footage to the correct streamer and event.
- To maintain security, prevent abuse, and keep an administrative audit log of destructive actions.
How we share it
- Within the Org: streams and recordings are visible to authenticated members; administrative data is visible to Org administrators.
- Service providers / infrastructure: the Service runs on the Org-controlled infrastructure and supporting components (e.g. Discord for sign-in).
- Legal: we may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety.
- We do not sell your personal information and we do not show third-party advertising.
Cookies
We use only strictly-necessary cookies: a login session cookie (sc_session) and a short-lived OAuth state cookie (sc_oauth_state). We do not use advertising, analytics, or cross-site tracking cookies.
Data retention
Recordings are retained until an administrator deletes, quarantines, or purges them. Deleted items may sit in a recoverable quarantine before permanent purge. Account and participant records are kept while you are a member; contact us to request deletion.
Security
We use access controls, role-based administration, encrypted transport (HTTPS), and restricted network access. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing shadowflee2@gmail.com. You can stop streaming at any time and ask an administrator to remove your recordings.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and you must meet Discord minimum age requirements to use it. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
2. California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)
This section applies to California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act.
Categories of personal information collected
- Identifiers: Discord user ID, username, display name, avatar, synthetic email, IP address.
- Internet / network activity: connection and usage logs needed to run the Service.
- Audio/visual information: the video and audio you stream and the resulting recordings.
We collect this directly from you (your Discord sign-in and your streams) and automatically from your use of the Service, for the business purposes described in the Privacy Policy.
Sale / sharing
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. We have not done so in the preceding 12 months, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information beyond permitted purposes.
Your California rights
- Right to know / access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we hold.
- Right to delete personal information we have collected, subject to legal exceptions.
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of sale/sharing — not applicable, because we do not sell or share.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information — we already limit such use.
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights.
To exercise these rights, email shadowflee2@gmail.com. We verify requests using your Discord identity or account information. You may use an authorized agent; we may require proof of authorization.
Shine the Light (Cal. Civ. Code section 1798.83): we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.
3. Terms of Use
Eligibility and accounts
The Service is for authorized members of the Org. You sign in with Discord and are responsible for your account, your stream keys/tokens, and activity under your account. Keep your stream token private; contact an administrator to rotate it if it is exposed.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- stream or upload unlawful, infringing, harassing, hateful, or harmful content;
- broadcast third-party content you do not have the right to use (including copyrighted music);
- attempt to bypass authentication or access data, streams, or admin functions not meant for you;
- upload malware, scrape the Service, or disrupt its operation;
- impersonate others or misuse another member handle or token.
Your content and the license you grant
You retain ownership of the footage you stream. By streaming, you grant the Org a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to ingest, record, transcode, store, display to authenticated members, and archive your footage for the Org internal, non-commercial purposes. You can ask an administrator to remove your recordings.
As-is; disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that recordings will always be captured or retained.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Org and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost data or recordings, arising from your use of the Service.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold the Org harmless from claims arising out of content you stream or your violation of these Terms.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or to protect the Service or its members.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. (Change this if the Org operates from a different state.)
Changes
We may update these documents; material changes are reflected by the Last updated date.
4. Recording & Streaming Consent
By starting a stream, you acknowledge and consent that:
- your broadcast video and audio (shared screen, game window, voice, and any captured system/Discord audio) are captured, transcoded, stored, recorded, and made available to other authenticated Org members and administrators, and may be archived for later viewing and download within the Org;
- recordings are linked to your participant handle and the associated event;
- you should not display or speak personal, sensitive, or confidential information on stream, because it may be recorded and seen by other members.
If you do not consent to being recorded, do not stream.
5. Intellectual Property — Star Citizen / Cloud Imperium
This is an unofficial, fan-run Org tool. Star Citizen, Squadron 42, Roberts Space Industries, Cloud Imperium, and related names, logos, and game assets are the property of Cloud Imperium Games (CIG) and its affiliates. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by CIG.
Gameplay footage on the Service is user-generated and used non-commercially, consistent with CIG Fan Film / Machinima and Fandom guidelines: the Service does not charge for or paywall access to footage, does not redistribute extracted game assets (such as voice, music, or art) as standalone files, and does not use CIG official marketing materials (trailers, concept art, etc.). This Service must remain within those policies.
6. Copyright / DMCA
Respect others copyrights — in particular, avoid streaming copyrighted music or third-party content you are not licensed to use. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, email shadowflee2@gmail.com with: identification of the work, the specific stream/recording, your contact information, a good-faith statement, and a statement under penalty of perjury that you are authorized to act. We remove infringing material and may remove repeat infringers.
